A Celebration of the Arts at CWA: Art Festival 2022
What a treat it was to welcome members of our community back to campus for an all-school art festival on April 28.
During the day, students of all ages explored the studios of the Sam and Nathalie Brown Visual Arts Center, trying their hands at screen printing, wheel ceramics, solar printing, string art, and more. Middle School artists presented finished ceramic pieces inspired by the drawings of our Lower School artists during the “Kids ‘N Clay” event, a decades-long tradition here at Charles Wright.
Families were also invited to campus for a K-12 art show featuring the beautiful artwork created by our students this year, including presentations by students in Advanced Art and Advanced Ceramics. The recent work of our Artist in Residence and printmaker, Angela Gilmore, was also on display. Food trucks and a festival vibe made for a great day celebrating the best K-12 art program in the South Sound. Thanks to all who were able to join us for this magical day!
